CAP Index Introduces Proximity Analysis Mapping Service

CAP INDEX INTRODUCES PROXIMITY ANALYSIS™ MAPPING SERVICE

Layered visualization of risk and business intelligence data provides companies and organizations with a powerful tool for developing risk management and business strategies.

Exton, PA, September 20, 2004 - CAP Index, Inc., the world leader in crime vulnerability and loss prevention analytics, today introduced its Proximity Analysis Mapping™ service.

According to Jon Groussman, CAP Index President and COO, "CAP Index Proximity Mapping is based on our original Threat Proximity Analysis technology, which was introduced in 2003. The new Proximity Mapping service builds on CAP Index's geo-spatial mapping capability that can visually depict layers of critical factors that characterize specific geographic areas. Our original mapping service visually depicted the CRIMECAST™ crime vulnerability data for specific areas. Then we layered on Homeland Security risk factors - such as potential infrastructure and public terrorist targets. Now, our commercial clients are asking us to make available still another layer of business intelligence factors - such as demographic and competitor information," Groussman said.

CAP Index Proximity Analysis™ is designed to help companies and government agencies visually depict a complete range of factors that characterize a particular geographic location. For example, retail banks use the Proximity Analysis service to understand where their local branches are in relation to both high crime neighborhoods and potential terrorist targets. These clients can now layer on information about competitor locations, new residential construction, and vehicular traffic patterns. This multi-level view of a neighborhood, city, or region can be invaluable in the selection of expansion sites and other business decisions.

"We also hear from businesses and government agencies with high-value properties and concentrations of employees that risk management is a top priority. Cap Index's Proximity Analysis service, which can be updated on a schedule the client establishes, complements private and public sector disaster and business continuity planning activities as well as planning by corporate risk managers and insurance companies," says Groussman.
